Pre-Owned "Shunga - act VI - Crocus" Hermès Kelly 28 transformed leather bag

The Shunga series draws inspiration from the
centuries old Japanese erotic art form that reached its height during the Edo period (1603 to 1867), with the proliferation of Ukiyo-e woodblock prints. Literally translated as ‘picture of spring’, Shunga varied widely in depictions of sexuality and despite being officially banned, was enjoyed by all social groups. Jay Ahr uses this traditional art form to explore modern notions of censorship at the same time as celebrating the exquisite beauty of the artworks themselves. This bag is a vintage Hermès Kelly Sellier 28 cast in Crocus, first produced in 2012. The stamped-grain lightweight Epsom leather gives a structured relaxed contour. Detailed with palladium plated hardware it comes with a detachable clochette with two encased keys and a padlock. The bag stands tall on protective feet and is carried by a single padded top handle.
