Jamaica-born Matthew Harris found his passion for jewellery making in New York, where he moved to study as a teenager. Initially designing men’s jewellery, the self-taught designer pivoted to women’s fine jewellery in 2014, drawing inspiration from modern art and New York itself to cultivate Mateo’s minimal yet striking aesthetic. Precious metals, diamonds and pearls define the in-demand collections which are adored by Rihanna, Michelle Obama, Zendaya and, of course, us here at Threads.
